FOX .17 EPS beats estimates by 4 cents.

I think you're right, Paul, re FOX beating a First Call analysts' consensus of 13 cents. BASELINE is also showing a 13c estimate, as is CBS MarketWatch. I don't know where Briefing.com got its 17c consensus from.

From the company press release:

The Fox Entertainment Group (NYSE:FOX - news) today reported a substantial increase in profitability led by a 29% increase in revenues for the quarter ending December 31, 1998. Driven by an increase in contributions from Filmed Entertainment and Television Stations as well as declining losses at the Fox News Channel, FOX generated a 25% increase in EBITDA to $330 million from $265 million and a 52% increase in net income to $105 million from $69 million. Earnings per share increased 31% to $0.17 vs. $0.13 in the comparable period a year ago. This is after a 12% increase in weighted average shares outstanding as a result of the FOX initial public offering, which was completed on November 11, 1998.
