not sure what the handle would be connected to. My data goes back to 92 and I see no time where GTNR traded near its current area dec 98. Therefore, no cup and no handle. But....

I would suggest watching the 89.3.5 stochs. When it crosses back over the 80 line GTNR will be poised to explode. Other technicals are forming into a mode which indicates a strong move up. Main concern is volume on GTNR. It really needs to get some interest to pump it up and allow it to run

I am limited in my knowledge of TA, so others are better suited at reading the charts than I am, but it appears the handle was formed around March of last year. The run up in share price (breakout) has occurred since that time. I looked at a two year chart to see this pattern.

Anyone else agree or see it different.

Sorry, I stated I was looking at a 2 year chart, but I was actually looking at a five year chart. It appears that there was a cup and handle with the handle beginning towards the end of 97 and completing around march of 98. Price appreciation since then.

Then again, I am not a TA person. Several others stated they looked back to 1991 and don't see a handle formation. I don't see one forming now, but historically I think there was a cup formed between 1991 through the end of 1997 with a handle from the end of 1997 through the beginning of 1998 and a breakout thereafter.

Then again, what do I know. I've got two fingers of gin in my coffee.

Steven, I've learned to analyze charts using many different criteria. I am most comfortable relying on the trend than on other information. I like looking at the long term trend as well as the short term trend.

GTNR's chart demonstrates a nice short term and long term trend and there isn't much reason for concern on the individual stock. However, the small cap market is looking like it needs a good day soon or it's going to correct downward. The Russell 2000 looks very vurnable right now as the 50 day EMA is on a path to cross over the 200 day EMA on the way down.

Thread,
Thanks for the replies.(gtnr)
I was concentrating on the chart pattern from last July (cup),
to the present time, and thought I saw the handle forming now.
Somewhat lopsided but?????
Have read O'Neils book, and must admit that I don't always see what he sees in chart patterns. Obviously I'm new at this, and I certainly didn't mean to cry wolf. Thanks again.

RADAR...I use Jack in mine.
