Falwells Teletubbie lameness is on the front page of half the major newspapers in the country. Letterman/Leno are going to have fun with this. What an idiot, really.

<<criticized TV's "Murphy Brown>>

Yeah, I liked that show too. It was the center of left wing support. Bad judgement on Quails part. Or, at least bad timing. At the time it wasn't thought of as a social issues show by the mainstream, just light entertainment. Then when it wasn't a political toy, crash and boom. Same with "Ellen" as I recall. Wander what will happen to clinton et al when the Repubs start to let people sort this out for themselves. If they do?

In the long run people need to have productive goals to move forward. The reaction to this by the mainstream has been primarily one of looking over their shoulders at the boogie man trying to take control of their wombs. dipy and flynt may be all alone in the victory parade.

Acquital is giving some people a sense of accomplishment even though they don't have anything of substance to pin it on.

A:) Dan Quayle was right, statistically children are better off with two parents, even when controlling for income;
B:) The show demonstrated how right he was, by quietly dropping Avery, because he didn't fit in with Murphy's life.

Clinton Blasts Republicans for Being 'Religious Zealots'

WASHINGTON, DC - Speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast, President Clinton told a group of clergymen, "Those extremist Republicans are nothing but a bunch of 'Religious Zealots' who are trying to impose God's laws on the American people."

Later that same day Vice President Al Gore, speaking from a DNC fund raiser at a Buddhist Temple in Southern California, told of group of wealthy monks, "The Republicans need to abide by the Constitutional separation of church and state."

That evening President Clinton took Gore's statement and expounded upon it during a DNC rally being held at at a Black Baptist Church. Said Clinton, "Religion's role in politics has gotten way out of hand. If it weren't for the Religious Right, I would have never been impeached."
