He donated 3 billion between the William Gates foundation (named after his father) and the Gates Learning Foundation. Both aimed at helping people in different areas including Seattle and other inner city areas and makes computers available and learning. Among other things... He's the greatest donater (sorry the exact word escapes me) in history. Of course he's also the richest. That helps! But unlike many other rich people, esp many of our overpaid entertainers, Bill Gates makes a difference!
