All this hype about AltaVista getting spun out as the new portal... What a joke! This is suicide for them IMO. The whole reason all the portals go with INKT to provide the search engine for them is because INKT has no desire to become a portal, unlike AltaVista. INKT will continue to collect golden crumbs from all the portals in its own unpretentious way...careful not to step on any toes and upset its partners. With all the media giants looking to get in on the action, INKT can only benefit as the technology leader. One of these days, CSCO/LU/MSFT will snap up this cheap king of internet infrastructure. YHOO is the only portal left standing and now AltaVista is considered a candidate! What's stopping them from feasting on the mother of all search engines with blood in the water? P.S. Same thing happened to me this A.M. It was all over the map. You either own it or you don't...no whining over a point here and there when we'll be over 100 soon.
