the article proves my point. not that the rocket scientists on cnbc are guides, but i remember one of them (kernan, i think, maybe not) remarking when the lycos deal was announced that this "validated the share prices of the internet stocks," or something to the effect that the price being paid for lycos confirmed that these companies are worth close to their stock prices. i thought the remark appropriate, since something is really worth what a willing buyer pays a willing seller. so i was pleased with this and expected cmgi to gap upwards for gestating a high value internet company like lycos. but the greedmongers didn't see it that way. hungry pigs get fed, greedy pigs get slaughtered. as marshall dix noted, there is an upside to this that the greedmongers are overlooking. cmgi should do well. this is a great buying oppportunity. hmmmmm. maybe i should urge people to short cmgi to create a short squeeze instead. oh well.
