Yahoo's minor recovery today kept it below the bottom trendline on my chart, which had shown a downside breakout from a triangle. Today was, in some ways bearish, in spite of it being an up day. Triangles, like any other pattern, or any other TA technique is never 100%.

However, rebounds to the underside of a trendline, the formation of a rebound to a neckline of a confirmed head and shoulders often occur. These often present the last best shorting and put buying opportunities for a stock before the big decline.

These boards and the e-stock markets are still filled with many more people tasting greed over fear. It is too early to say one way or another if the bubble bursts now or later. The lack of volume is consistent with what frequently happens in major reversals. Low volume for a while. Especially given the long and wildly successful run the e-stocks have had, most people want to believe that this is just another buying opportunity.

The confirmed head and shoulders for AMZN got worse today as that stock continued its decline. LCOS is further along in H&S. EBAY continued down. CyberCash (CYCH), another SoftBank company, is looking like another confirmed Head and Shoulders, past the right shoulder and well below the neckline now. CYCH is a small but important e-commerce player. AMZN is the #1 e-retailer.

I would like to hear more from others employing TA on what their tea leaves say about YHOO and the sector.
