<<How do you explain these stock gains in the face of Redux lawsuits.>>

The entire market is over valuated. How do you explain internet stocks that haven't made a penny yet trade at hundreds of dollars per share? AHP will like all large pharma stocks be traded in baskets and go up and down with the entire pharma market but will still tend to be over valuated as based on historic standards. The effects of the Fen/Phen lawsuits in terms of AHP's bottom line are still unknown.

What is the relevance of Redux lawsuits to the price of Vivus?

Boy I sure would hope by now that you would have figured that one out.
I believe that the Redux situation has some important parallels to Viagra. Whereas AHP had scientific data which suggested that Redux may have some detrimental side effects, AHP placed corporate greed ahead of consumer safety. Likewise, Pfizer has known all along that a large percentage of the ED market is composed of men with cardiovascular disease including CAD yet Pfizer purposely avoided placing this important group of patients in its phase III clinical trials. Pfizer (like AHP) placed corporate greed ahead of patient safety and was just happy to get Viagra out on the market before other competitors could get an ED pill on the market. Now we have over 200 dead Viagra users, thousands of Viagra induced coronaries and the best that Pfizer could do was change their label to tell doctors that they should use Viagra "with caution"(whatever that means) in the CVD patient. To this day Pfizer denies that Viagra can through its hypotensive effects put the CAD patients over the edge thus resulting in a coronary. To do so would be an admission of guilt and just as the cigarette companies always denied that smoking caused cancer, Pfizer will continue to deny that Viagra is very unsafe in the CVD patient.

How does this effect Vivus? Very simple. It gives Muse the recognition it deserves for being a MUCH SAFER ED DRUG THAN VIAGRA WILL EVER BE!!! Certainly nobody here can argue that a pill is much more convenient than an urethral suppository but in an educated society, science and fact should prevail over big $$, politics and media hype.

I hope I answered your question. If you were at all concerned about ethics and didn't just fixate on Pfizer's stock price then you would already understand these things. But I understand on how greed prevails over morality. It's the American way.
