Here is an article from a guy who is smart and understands the issues at hand. What he fails to include in his analysis and predictions is the value of the set top box and what it can turn into. Once we fully enter the digital age, I doubt that most homes will have more than one PC. I also doubt that most homes will have less than two TV's hooked up to a digital interactive set top box that controls not only video, cable modem access and multiple interactive services, but also will connect to home appliances, meter power and handle home security. This guy missed that the perfect broadband hub for the home will be the STB that will be networked or "plug and play" with the many entertainment hardware components from DVD/CD Rom to VCR and digital stereo.
