These are the ISP's...

TIAC.NET
MEDIAONE.NET
GTE.NET

The ones I have been using this last week are MEDIAONE and TIAC. If one of those fails then I switch to GTE.NET as the primary backup.

I do not know the Green Light implementation, but do know that if there is a "bad hop" in your route to the quote servers data can get backlogged and will arrive delayed and in bursts.

Yes, I am aware of the messages from MB Trading as you point out:

1. On February 2nd there was an email which stated that a "bad Router" was causing "bursty or delayed quotes" -> it was replaced.

2. On February 3rd we received an email saying that "new account activation" was being postponed until adequate upgrades are in place -> done proactively (in advance of problems) to assure system overloading does not occur.

3. On February 9th we received an email notifying users that the cause of "Today's Internet Troubles" was a "Prime example of the world's largest ISP's (UUnet and Alternet) having nationwide outages".

What I am pointing out is that there was one instance of a problem at MB Trading (bad Router) on 2/2/99 and now there seems to be an overreaction to the fact that they proactively put a temporary hold on activating new accounts to prevent the "system crash due to overload problems" we are seeing at ETrade, Datek and others.

From what I see many folks are experiencing internet problems and then assuming they are MB Trading issues.

I don't think this is the case most of the time and hoped to provide input to help people isolate and identify any problems they are experiencing.

Please accept this in the spirit with which it was given -> "always to help and never to hinder..."

Good Luck, Great Trading and may your Networking always be Smooth!
