Robert,
Do you have your knee pads ready? I sense that it would be more beneficial to you than slick.

I respect your right to feel this way, even though you are unwillingly benefiting from his magnificent two terms of office!

I love the benefits i have been "contributing" thanks to his tax hike (the one that even he admitted was too much).

Robert-

Yours is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read from someone with a claim to any degree of sophistication. [OK that excludes some posters, but it still says a lot.]

Not that you bother to show show the slightest rationale why Sleazebag Bill has displayed "leadership and sacrifice". Jeez! Mind telling us about this "leadership and sacrifice"? But I realize you probably do not feel the need for a considered rationale to sustain an opinion. Face it, the guy has positioned his presidency beautifully with respect to the business cycle- the 90's have benefitted greatly from Reagan era economic reforms, the collapse in the price of oil, and the end of the Cold War. To confuse that with "leadership and sacrifice" is theater of the absurd! (Note to theater buffs: I realize I do an injustice to playwrights here who knew very well what they were presenting in their plays, while Mr. Barry is clueless about leadership and sacrifice, but theater of the absurd has become a figure of speech).

Clinton's entire career- even life- has been dedicated to the furtherance of Bill Clinton. He has succeeded brilliantly with the fools that constitute the American electorate. But don't confuse it with sacrifice (unless you mean the lives around him that have been sacrificed).

As for leadership, well the Republican Congress has pretty much bottled up Clinton's agenda for America. You may recall his early plan to nationalize health care in this country. I'll cite just one example of Clinton style "leadership". For decades the US Navy patrolled the Taiwan Straits. The Chinese took note, but never appeared to object. Clinton, who received nothing for his gesture, stopped the patrols, alarming a historic friend in Taiwan and emboldening the dictators in Beijing to the point where they militarily threatened Taiwan. Oh well, I guess you don't live in Taiwan, so you don't care if your friend Bill sacrifices the people of Taiwan. But his cozying up to Chinese government has caused consternation throughout much of Asia, contributing to India's decision to make their nuclear program very public. This constitutes your vision of "leadership?"

You know, a true leader will often be divisive and challenging. It goes with the territory of leading down unpopular paths. But your man Bill has been most divisive in matters pertaining to his own private life. Some legacy. Bill Clinton's "leadership" shows vividly how little is the commitment to the future on the part of man without a past.

Larry

>>History will look back kindly and appreciatively at President William Jefferson Clinton's leadership and sacrifices<<

Are you some kind of apologist or just highly sarcastic?

Yeah, i guess willie's always been self-sacrificing, starting with when he was partying in russia while our boys were having their asses shot off over in se asia.

FWIW
Andy

<<..President William Jefferson Clinton's leadership and sacrifices.>>

Now you got me. What has bc sacrificed, and for whom?

The principles of american justice...for the sake of his power.
The military strength of our nation...for the votes of the libers
The lives of hundreds and thousands of innocent muslim children...for a distraction from his sexual preferences.
The support of people who trusted him...for the dependencies of those with petty social issues
The fidelity of friends and family...to cover up his illicit promiscuity.
The Great American Experiment...To be come a club member with other politically corrupt nations of the world.
A country ruled by constitutional law...for a country dependant on a charming lower lip curl.
Liberty and Justice for all...for the rule of the powerful and elite

To name a few. Is this the start of the list you were refering too?
