I agree that options are better in an IRA than in a taxable account. Now I understand why you originally told me "My IRA is all options". Not only are options not marginable but when they are in the margin account, they do not add to the value of the account so there is some value there that is "not counted" toward a margin debt %. I am now buying options in the IRA and selling off the ones in the taxable account (almost all done now.)
If you buy the options 6-9 months out, how close do you allow them to get to expiration before you sell them?
