Whatever Armstrong said today is just a part of his strategy to keep AOL as well as its OpenNet alliance at bay. FCC wants to hear this
to justify their approval. Armstrong stressed that its investment in cable wouldn't generate a competitive market overnight. T will not give the cable free to AOL. However, it will include AOL with a fixed charge, such as $9.99 per subscriber. @Home will not be bypassed.
IMO, including AOL only increases @Home's appeal to the general populace. This is a good news.
