A couple of COMSters replied back to me expressing an interest to get together and share info about COMS. Any others ? I think it will be nice to get this frustration off your chest and share it with others.

I believe it's an FASB rule. While they can do modest buybacks to fund share needs for their stock option programs, or what they often term "general corporate purposes", a large repurchase of shares that just go back into treasury will prevent them from making a pooling transaction. They would never allow that to occur. Never.
