RE: "Do you think from DOJ's point, they (the people at Microsoft) are all criminals?"

ED, I think your question has some relevance.

A year ago the existence of this kind of wounded-pride talk would have been unthinkable in relation to Microsoft on this or any other thread.

Microsoft employees are definitely not criminals. It would appear though that upper management has surrounded itself with yes-men to the point that the Microsoft Way is not being marketed to the courts in the usual effective way it has been presented in the business world.

I think that all of us are a little disappointed realizing that Gates knew or should have known what his people in the field and what his defense team in court were up to.

So far the court has been very lenient toward Microsoft and has not characterized "bungled" defense efforts as "evidence tampering". But, I think substantial irrevocable damage has been done to our credibility and ultimately to our interests.

Truth is self-evident. If the truth is indeed on Microsoft's side, then no extra-ordinary or devious means need be employed to show it.

Hal

PS: Does any one else out there think it odd that virtually all the defense witnesses are Gates' own employees? If the truth is out there, why not go out there and get it?
