All, I know is that Enamelon's advertising has been in my face over the last 3 months or so. May be they are spending the marketing dollars more effectively, or may be they were saddled with a lot of initial costs to kick-off their advertising campaign. All I know is that their marketing campaign didn't let up in the last quarter. In fact I didn't even notice it until back in October. May be I'm in the right place at the right time (so to speak).
This is my personal experiance. It would be interesting to hear from others? I am a sample of one. I don't doubt your analysis by the way. Just leting you what I've seen. And it doesn't make sense to me.

The company's earnings release is now available on BW:

go2net.newsalert.com

John was right, marketing expenses were down to 7,240,444 vs. 10,749,269 in the prior quarter. Administrative expenses were also down to 766,685 vs. 1,062,629 in the prior quarter. It's also been my impression that we were inundated by ENML's advertising in the fourth quarter, at least in the NYC area. My guess is that the buys were made in the third quarter and were expensed at that time.

It's interesting that I've met a few people who have heard of Enamelon (the stock), and I've met at least 3 people who have invested in it. Now, I don't know any venture capitalists, and most people I do know invest in little other than their 401(k)'s. If nothing else, this is a testament to Dr. Fox's ability to raise money from the local citizenry. BTW, the current thinking of those holding the stock seems to be that ENML will eventually be bought out by either Colgate-Palmolive or P & G (at a premium, of course) ;-)

FWIW,

Mark
