Good ruminations. Once, I took out a few students from my alma mater as part of an Alumni Association program aimed at seniors. I was surprised to discover that a couple of them were hard- left. We had a pleasant enough conversation, but the more I scored points, the more one of them spaced out, not listening, and the other began to retort with things like "well, how do you know?" to steps in an argument even most social democrats would not dispute. It was quite enlightening.
