It all depends where you go to public school. Are they graduates of say PS {fill in the number in}in NYC, or are they graduates of say the Bronxville Public school system where the average graduate goes to an IVY league school? I might add that the school taxes in Bronxville are rather high. If you had school choice then the parents in Bronxville as in the other PS school would have the option of continuing sending that child to that school. What school did your children go to?

OT
If you had all that tax money back that goes into the public schools, you could afford to send your children to private school. If your wife had to quite work when she had children she could have home schooled. Many people in my neighborhood do just that (the woman quits work not because she "has" to but because she wants to be the one who influences their children.)
And this is my final word. If you want to continue this discussion go to the Libertarian thread or PM me.
Best wishes to all for a DELLish day,
