SFTW Full-Year UNIX/NT Revenues Rose Over 500%

Enlighten Software Solutions Reports 1998 Fourth Quarter and Year End Results

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 11, 1999--Enlighten Software Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFTW - news), a provider of workgroup administration and enterprise management solutions for the UNIX, Windows NT and Windows 95 and 98 marketplaces, today reported results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 1998. Fourth quarter and full year revenue and net operating results from the Company's UNIX/NT business were significantly improved in 1998 over the prior year's periods.

Revenue related to Enlighten's emerging UNIX/NT/Windows business rose 2,043% to $1,034,000 in the fourth quarter of 1998 compared to $48,000 in the year ago quarter. The increase in revenue was principally attributable to the commencement of product shipments pursuant to Enlighten's strategic bundling agreement with Silicon Graphics, Inc. (NYSE:SGI - news). Total revenue for the fourth quarter of 1998 increased 375% to $1,131,000, compared to revenue of $238,000 in the fourth quarter of 1997.

Enlighten reported a net loss of $352,000, or $0.09 per share, in the fourth quarter of 1998, compared to net income, including a $2.2 million non-recurring gain from the sale of Enlighten's Tandem product line, of $423,000, or $0.13 per diluted share, in the fourth quarter of 1997. The weighted average number of shares outstanding for the fourth quarters of 1998 and 1997 were 3,881,000 (basic) and 3,256,000 (diluted), respectively. The increase in the weighted average shares outstanding primarily reflects the sale of 700,000 additional shares of Common Stock in the Company's May 1998 public offering.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm kinda glad now that I did take my little profit yesterday on ASCT. But guess I was a little too cocky this a.m. with an attempt to play ROMT.

A couple of days I ago I tried to get in with a limit order and never made it. SO....this a.m. before the open when the ask was at 3 5/32 I put in a market order for 500, thinking that I might get it at somewhere between 3 1/4 and 3 1/2. Imagine my surprise (shock?) when it was filled 10 minutes after the open at 4! Live and learn, I guess. LOL
