Oh Really. Try this link: quote.yahoo.com Then place the stock symbol in the box. When you get the quote, click on the "profile" link. That page will show you the float of most companies as of the date shown on the page. This number is always subject to change, since the company often reports after the fact. But it is a good indicator of float.

There are other such areas, membership needed that can be cross-referenced for float figures to get an even more accurate picture. And don't forget that the authorized number [especially in BBs] is the one to keep your eye on. A BB company with 50 mil authorized, 5 mil outstanding and 1 mil float, could pour shares into the market by the millions and not give notice until the quarterly. . . and MOST BB stocks don't report at all. . .so they can pour paper into the market and never tell anyone.

So the ONLY WAY to really know what the float of any company is. . . .is to call the company and get their most up-to-date numbers on the public float.
