I don't think that IDT's $99 scanner is meant to be robust enough to facilitate huge one to many searches like the one to 6.7 mm print comparisons you are describing. I think it was meant for one to one and smaller one to many searches. (Is this right David?) I have also heard that there are plans in the works to use Identix technology to improve the performance of the IDT $99 FIT scanner by adding false finger detection and other features without adding to the cost.

David, thanks for the feedback on the IDT one:many algorithm. I'm not aware how Identicator has done with it, or if it has even led to any sales. It is clear that IDT's success has come from its one:one authentication product, and that that is by far its major value to IDX in this acquisition.
