See below about ESPI.....! February 10, 1999 9:50am RUMOR BEAT If their was a day for lack of enthusiasm, yesterday was the day. Many traders are just waiting for another market flush out so it could finally be over with, and we were one hour more away from that happening. With the attention on the volatile Nasdaq sector, rumors seem to be secondary in this tension filled market. We even had a take under in the shares of Lycos (LCOS) as traders are realizing that these high stock valuations must come to an end. Some items of interest in the rumor mill were talks about a possible takeover in the shares of Zale Corp. (ZLC).....Shares of Monsanto Co. (MTC) keep popping up on many traders takeover list as rumors keep haunting this divorcee of American Home Products (AHP).....Rumors of a takeover being complete were rumored in the shares of Century Communications Corp. (CTYA).....Also, two rumors we reported this week were in the news as shares of PeopleSoft Inc. (PSFT) was mentioned favorably by Soundview Financial and shares of Emultek Ltd. (EMUL) were higher as traders were rumored saying bullish news was coming....Finally, after the bell, we heard rumors of a major contract being awarded to E.Spire communications Inc.
