<<Clearly some people were still
hoping for a tier 1 annuncement this morning. Only compulsive and impatient SI people
would buy this am before any of that disappointment is played out.>>

The only people who are disappointed are people who bought stock for trading because they believe everything they read on Yahoo board without regard to an anonymous poster's track record. Again, if one reads carefully the words of Asic_1 ( who has an impeccable track record to-date ), he/she never predicted a Tier One announcement in conjunction with Q4 conference call. Any Tier One announcement is likely to be made only after that particular OEM is ready to announce their own SAN solution to the world first, then any association with ANCR would be likely to follow or be at the same time. The OEMs drive the announcement timetable, not Ancor.Someone from Rochestor, MN posted this point last night on Yahoo ( it is interesting to note that Rochestor, MN is the location for Pemstar, Ancor's new contract mfgr run by a bunch of ex-IBM employees).

Also, there are clear signals that Ancor is in the process of preparing for a very significant ramp up ( precursers are hiring of additional staff )..do you really think that Ancor would be sticking their necks out with such bold statements and staffing up( committing to more fixed operating costs ) on the basis of 4 Tier 2-3 OEMs:

<<"We are very encouraged by these OEM agreements and currently expect to be
bringing programs from these customers online in volume in late 1999 or early
the following year," said Hendrickson. He noted that, in anticipation of
customer needs, Ancor continues to add account management and technical
personnel and to expand the infrastructure needed to support higher production
volumes.>>
