Rob, that guy got ripped off if he wasn't in on some scheme to dupe the public.

Why do you suppose he didn't just buy the shares on the open market? Before you say that volume is too thin, 578,000 traded on 2/4/99 driving the price only as high as 11.

Why not a tender offer at 10? Lots of folks would have been happy with a double.

I guess there could have been a reason, but I can't come up with one.

Oops, silly me for quoting the volume and price on 2/4 to support that 1/2 million shares could have been bought for less than 15 on the open market. Volume today is approaching 3.1 million, with a high of 13. More than enough to cover a 1/2 million buy.
