Haim, My assertion was that you don't need an expensive microprocessor (PIII) to do hardware compression/decompression. You responded with a valid example of a case where you would want to do this in software. I responded with a question which hinted that low cost AMD processors with 3DNow can probably do just as well as high cost PIII processors. I will rephrase my question more specifically: Do you know of any reason why KNI will do better on these algorithms than 3DNow? Scumbria
