The Globe & Mail says in today's edition that the deal is worth about $3 per share plus the assumption of $330 million in debt. Just the debt portion of this deal equals about $12 per share. I doubt that anyone will want to pay a higher price. Many companies in the oil patch have been burned badly in recent years by overpaying for assets in takeovers.

The market seems to have adjusted to this reality and the stock is trading at about $2.95. Now we know why the stock fell suddenly below $3 recently, those in the know were getting out.
