Thank you, Ed

I really don't think it has anything to do with daSlinger, because I have another computer with a separate high-speed modem, and it's the same situation there.

I have separate LII quotes, but also like to have the streamer on the other computer - to keep both quotes honest :)

It was very hard to get a streamer going today, I finally got on one of the old-style ones about 1 hour into trading.

Today's servers, at least in my experience, were busier than usual, and I tried switching to different express servers, but all were slow. I traded much less today.

I'm holding out for the unofficial promise (see Ginger's post 10911 here) from Peter Stern that all our problems will be solved by the end of February. We will live in paradise by March.

Of course, I've heard similiar promises since the summer of 98 when the problems first started to get noticeable. And the promises have transpired to have been empty. Anyone remember how Peter came on here and said he's actually looking forward to a record volume day, so that Datek can show off it's new "silly fast" servers?

Of course, I'm the stupidest guy, since every time I think "well THIS time, they'll get it right". I don't learn from experience. I'm doomed. There is no hope. If Datek is still around, I'll still be here, 40 years later, sipping Geritol, wheezing "Next week, by next week, they'll fix it for sure... here's my social security check, lemme trade".
