They paid $5k in upfront money. Yes, they renegotiated and pay $400k royalties up to $100 million in revs, and owe another $200k in the slim chance they go over $100 million. Previously, royalties were set to 4% of revenues. That would have generated $4 million on $100 million in revs. I wonder why someone thought 10 cents on the dollar in guaranteed money was a better deal than $4 million, if the potential was so great? Revenues will probably be over $10 million this year, so Fox did negotiate a good deal if it works.

I could develop a pencil with 10 erasers and get a patent. It doesn't mean it would sell, and a patent is pretty worthless unless it protects something of value.
