VVTV

From YHOO

It just hit the tape that CMG, the venture capitalist and 20% holder of Lycos, has withheld support for the
USA deal, which explains partially why LCOS is up 15 points at the moment.

It may also partially explain why our VVTV is up close to a point. IF (big if?) prior posters to this board are
correct that Lycos was going to be involved in a deal with VVTV and perhaps NBC until Barry Diller
intervened, a collapse of the USA deal MAY result in revived discussions among the aforementioned three
parties.

Keep in mind that the reason LCOS holders HATE the USA deal is that the resulting combined company is
not "internet-centric" enough for their taste, i.e. too much revenue from the combined company was coming
from slower growth TV home shopping. If that deal dies, then LCOS would surely not make any future deal
that did not result in an internet-centric approach. Being involved with the smaller ValueVision, and perhaps
CNET/SNAP and NBC would mean that a higher percentage of combined revenues would be higher growth
internet revenues, and even the TV home shopping revenue portion would be higher growth than the larger
HSN's revenue base is.

All very intriguing, and potentially very positive developments for VVTV this morning.

Turns out SOWK is kosher, just their use of the word DIVIDEND was suspect....it was a simple 5 for 1 split.
