I was very disapointed that someone most likely with the company or underwriters bid stock up last night and screwed the IPO investors with a $19 price, higher than they could have bought it for in the open market for the last week plus. I also got what I asked for (#of shares)which worrys me also (typically its a percentage of).

However my experience with secondarys indicates that new awareness, assets and underwriter investment almost always pushes issue higher. Frankly I do read prospectus's before chomping (unless the compaany has ".com" or "net" in the name :>) and found ChiRex to be a very exciting bio-tech investment.

I would have been happy to buy it at 17.5 all day yesterday and thought that the IPO would price 16-17, so was very upset at the last hour manipulation. However now that I am an owner, the fact they didn't offer anymore than 2.5 Million shares is very comforting, they easily could have. The extra cash raised will always help us in the long run.
