A quote from Sven at Ericsson "How will new operators - that is, those who do not already have a existing network for current mobile systems - act with respect to third generation mobile telephony? "The first phase of the third generation of mobile telephone systems will be partially based on GSM. Any entirely new operator will have to invest in the construction of a complete system. Operators who already have a network will have a huge advantage." I guess he thinks WCDMA is actually going ahead. Somebody should send this to are trade reps as to why WCDMA is a threat to American interests.
