Curt,

Vivus is currently sitting on a large amount of cash which is invested in bonds. IMO if Vivus management had half a brain, they would take at least $4M out of their cash available securities, announce a stock buy back of up to $4M as they deem fit from time to time on the open market and then put the job of buying back shares in the hands of a competent broker.

If the stock price continues to linger in the 2's then they should just accumulate shares in small orders throughout each day until the supply of stock brings the price up above 3. They can then hold off on further purchases if the stock manages to gain upward momentum and starts heading north above 4.

These are fairly simple strategies that do not require a PhD in rocket science but then with Vivus you can't expect a whole lot of common sense on the management level unless they can just make a vote and let the new CFO take care of the rest.

OK,
I admit reversing the float was a unanimously bad idea, but Vivus is losing investors with each passing day. The market cap is down around $75 million...
