edamo,

Actually, theoretically it may be proven that the options are a fair game if priced according to Black-Scholes (CTC, Geoff Nunn and I had a very interesting discussion on this issue in last December), neither the buyer nor the seller has any advantage. So it is slightly better than Atlantic City. It is a negative sum game however for both the buyer and the seller and the options MM makes all the money from bid-ask spreads.

I also made 2000% recently from DELL short term options. What does that prove? Well nothing other than that I just got lucky and I will lose the money some day. As I am sure you know the saying goes, there are many rich options players and then there are many old options players, but there are very few rich, old options players as in the long run it is a wash, as you would expect from a fair game.

They are an expensive fun hobby at best, but they are not investments IMHO, either for the buyer or the seller.
