Don't worry about day to day fluctuations or one week aberation.
This stock will eventuall reach $60 by year end....think of it as almost 100% gain from current levels. You will sleep well this way.

I don't think so mp. The cloud will be hovering
over 3Com until earnings are known. I haven't read
the details of the NIC report posted by Moonray, but
if it shows that feb profits for NICs are OK, then
this will add confidence to the quarter. (but, I don't
think that's what the report mentions?...will read
later).

Also, today, just seems like short covering. So, IMO,
be ready for COMS to go down more when market weakness
hits and shorts realize that nobody is buying COMS
seriously yet. (exception: if some "hard" good news
comes out and encourages buyers)

Right now, COMS is in the pit of uncertainty, and as
CC said, the street abhors uncertainty.

Damage control, and get out unless you think numbers
will be close to earnings forecast...I'm betting the
numbers will be OK.

joe

btw...I'll start up the coms.coms.coms last estimate
this weekend. Send your estimates to me if you'd like.
This quarter will be a real challenge for the thread<g>

LOL - "I personally think it has been set back by a year."

No doubt it will again be 33 after 12 months, but never count it to be dead. One thing it won't do, is stand still. Read this thread from
the period Feb-April, 1997. This is nothing. In fact, 3com fully participated in the rally and has only pierced briefly the 200 dma. Not to say that it isn't dangerous or that it couldn't go back to 30 in the blink of an eye. It needs to probe the lower levels some more, obviously the ceiling is 45-50 and the floor is 24. This action may have re-energized the trading in the stock so that it revisits the two extremes more often.
