RE: the variety of applications

This info is from the end of their most recent approved patent.
(http://164.195.100.11/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HI...). It mentions a few of these potential applications.

In addition to X-ray lithography there are several other potential applications for
the system described in this disclosure such as X-ray microscopy, biological / radio
biological, micro electromechanical system fabrication, bright X-ray source to
replace conventional electro-bombardment sources, cell and DNA X-ray
crystallography, X-ray fluorescence for material contamination detection, laser
ablation technology and more.

Soft x-rays are extreme ultraviolet (EUV). The lithography industry IS headed in the direction of EUV . JMAR just stated that they are capable of competing in the EUV field. JMAR is not just able to compete in the full on x-ray field.
