On "Chewing gum or taking notes" I can only do 1 at a time! I like to be to activily participate in lectures and I have found through all my years, that I can do 1 of 2 things. Either being an active participant or I can take notes, but I can not do both. Frankly I can not take good notes, never get back out what I want. I can and do listen very well and ask informed questions. If I think that I am going to miss something, by not recording it down I just don't learn as well.

So I really think that part of the package should be a Video Tapes, that way we can all relax and do everything and not worry about jotting things down. (some people do like to take notes as well, I understand)

I offered to help with recording because of the above, but I am amateur and it would not be professional, it would be recorded and useable but not professional. My offer still stands but for the importance of documenting this I may not be the best choice for the entire group.

Let me offer these 4 suggestions.
1. Tape the event professionally, I suggest going to a local Junior College finding the Video Club or Media class teacher get some hungry and savvy Vid Kids and paying those students some nice bucks to do the work. Alternatively just go to the phone book and book it as an event. Make sure that two independent cameras and sound gathering systems are used. We don't want to have ommissions due to hardware faliures
2. Anyone who attends gets a copy of the tapes as part of the package.
3. That anyone who can not attend, can pre-register to get the tapes. This may be able to lower the cost of for the people flying out.
4. That no one offer me any Gum, at the event. ;)
