<<AMD to produce a 450MHz version, which should be available sometime in Q2.>>

This seems odd for Jerry promised hundreds of thousands of K6-2 450 in Q1 and is in conflict with the info RDM posted from Lynn Computer which states the availability of 450 to be at the end of Feb.

<<K7 will be released in early 2nd half of '99>>

Aside from the competitive presure that promte the early Q2 release, the increased RD spending in Q1 appears to support the early release date.

I would speculate a release date to be before or on May 1.

May 1 is the 30th anniversary of the founding of AMD.

What could be a better gift than K7 to the 30th?

Yougang,

Re: "There are currently no solid plans to transition the K6 line to
.18 micron technology, though it may happen late in 1999 or early 2000 if
faster speeds are necessary."

Sounds like a "solid" roadmap to me, Yougang. <ggg> These guys are
"floundering".

Make It So,
