What Rodriguez was quoted as saying is about the most straight forward and intelligent thing I've heard said in a while. This guy doesn't give a damn about the price of our driller stocks. He wants his country to be able to see higher oil income but this can only be possible if the Saudis comply. I think the entire key is with Saudi Arabia. IMO the Iranians have had a valid gripe in expecting the Saudis to cut production to a greater extent since they got most of the Iraqi market share after the Gulf War.

As oil service stock holders we dislike the Saudis. Anyone in the domestic oil industry also probably despises them. But if you are a typical American flying around in your gas guzzling land rover you just think that the Saudis are our best buddies and you probably think that they should just keep on pumping their cheap oil forever.
