Why the heck is everyone so hot and bothered about ENMD - still in phase II, still on mice. IMCL awaiting entry of phase III (and news today from CEO confirms it's coming), works on humans, 100% of persons in the trials had their tumors shrink by more than half, 88% had complete ie.100% disappearance of their tumours. Product is way closer to market than enmd. You heard the CEO it's a hundreds of millions market each year. Their drug C225 can be used in several areas of the body they believe, each needing separate FDA approval, so they have 'multi-products'. They have a lot of CASH - from their financial partner Merck. And yet ENMD's product very far behind, doesn't work, etc moves - only b/c ppl got overzealous a yr ago and so , remember the co's name. Well, their's a new name in town - IMCL !

David:

ENMD is a good company, doing legitimate and interesting research.

Dr. Folkman is a respected scientist who has championed a concept which should save gobbles of unnecessary suffering.

The malaria vaccine is a real shot at protection. It is work that is quite well known among those who follow biotech.

I don't personally give a damn if ENMD goes up or down tomorrow. But I do care about how the biotech sector is regarded by investors. There are many therapies that need funding going forward, and it is important that capitalizations do not become inconsistent with promise. You'll find similar comments from me and others, at appropriate moments, in the GERN thread.

Fortunately, this ranting game has gone on long enough that it looks like it is now only traders burning traders, that the widows and orphans are largely gone. A part of me would love to see ENMD hit 80 tomorrow so that some of those who were burned the first time could be "whole".

However..... A/E are laboratory curiosities, and ENMD is well behind in taking anti-angiogenesis to the clinic.

Cheers! Rick
