I guessed 13 Republicans would cross the line. You would think that at least that many would have, at long last, enough sense to opt to drop out of the circular firing squad that the Republicans formed for themselves. Hope it drives all the remaining ones back out to the fringes where they belong. They are never to be trusted with a majority again. You see what they will try to do when they get one. Oh those sanctimonious, pious, hypocrites! Their protests now about how they are only doing their duty over sacred principles is so hollow and phoney. This episode will not be forgotten or forgiven, at least by me, or, I expect, the vast majority of voters.

It says in the Declaration of Independence, certain things are self evident and, among other things, that the rulers govern with the consent of the people. Somehow, the Republicans haven't figured out that also says that you don't do what the people don't want you to ... especially, not political vendettas.

Starr, Hyde, Gingrich, Barr, McCallum, and the rest of the House Managers have led their party right over the cliff.
