We didn't even HAVE a TV until I was about seven, not because my parents were so wise, but I guess because television wasn't invented yet, or because it wasn't ubiquitous enough to be considered a basic necessity of life. So when we finally got one, it was outside the realm of our normal existence for quite a while and was treated as a special privilege. By then, I was a reader and never replaced the habit. Besides, I HATED cartoons, except for Fantasia, which I still think is one of Disney's most brilliant creations.

My guess, Steve, is that you turned out strange (which is, by the way, a purely subjective judgment on your part and one with which I do not agree, because then I would have to admit that I, too, am strange. SInce I happen to think that the rest of the world is strange, I will choose to think of you, and thus me, as being---ummm- more highly evolved)--- now what was I saying? That sentence got out of control--- oh yes-you are strange because your parents WERE wise in many ways, and I bet your children will be strange too. Thank God --or whom/whatever (penni tries to inoffensive and all-inclusive).
