People like you keep my paycheck coming. Thanks.

1. Have you ever considered buying an Alpha box?
2. If AMD came out with a faster CPU than Intel, would you buy it?

1. Don't know what an Alpha box is.
2. I would not buy a CPU from AMD unless it has "intel inside".<g>

AMD has got a huge uphill battle for brand recognition. When you spend so much for a PC, you would think, what the hell, pay a little more for Intel CPU. When a consumer puts out so much money for a computer a few dollars for intel is considered worth it.(public perception in this case is more important than actual performance).
Only if CPU prices go up in relation to the overall computer price will AMD have a chance. That appears unlikely at this point.

AMD needs a lot of advertising to get there in addition to having a good product.---fast and powerful CPU alone won't cut it.
IMHO.
