Addendum to my last post, while I expressed some strong opinions
I'm aware I did not include any arguments to support them.
I trust I also worded it in a way not to ask any one to agree with
me. As I think that would have made it a political act, and I'm
not running for any office. <G>
If there is a message there it's only for those who can think
for themselves, as giving it to any one else would be futile.
Jim

Human. Most of us want to be left alone, unless absolutely necessary.

Privatizing the justice system - - I am also against it, in general. Some things are better served by arbitration, thing which require a lot of expert knowledge, such as construction disputes. Pity the poor circuit court judge trying to make sense of a dispute about installation, say, of an HVAC system in a very large building, like a stadium. Fuggedaboudit!

But, private "judges" are selected/paid by the parties, and want/need to be selected again, so they "split the baby" to make everyone happy. A regular judge may be arrogant, may even play favorites, but for the most part is fairly impartial, because he/she has no interest in the outcome.

I have no knowledge of privately-run jails.

I have posted on more than one occasion my opposition to state-run lotteries.

I would like to see smaller government, fewer activities for government to be involved in, which is conservative. You oppose privatization of government functions, which may be liberal, or not, depending on the function. A true libertarian anarchist would want no government at all, but that's not conservative.
