i think both elnk and mspg need to think bigger and consider how they will attach the next 10 million subscribers -- aol has 16 million.. while elnk and mspg have about 1 million each

mspg is buying netcom's sub base and that's what boosts them to 1 million pro forma

i believe to be a threat to aol, and knock msn out, both elnk and mspg need to have at least 5 million subscribers each -- this also gives them leverage in the coming high-speed wars between dsl and cable

the cable guys have the subscribers to cable already, so they are looking at adding internet for more cash flow

to compete both elnk and mspg will need to grow their sub bases and do cable deals (elnk already has done a small deal with charter i think)

the game on the internet (as my friend neil weintraut coined) is "get big fast" so no matter if you're an isp, portal, chat site, whatever, size matters (as the crowd often chants)
