<<<Who is still in power?? Janet Reno?? Well, then I guess you know who to blame, don't ya?>> I believe the name of the sniper was Ron Harriouchi - 6 months ago, got a promotion. <<It sure ain't Larry Potts, who was generously permitted to resign in order to prevent further embarrassment to his peers and supervisors. <<He should have been prosecuted, but alas politics came into play. Again, you know who to blame, and it ain't the Republicans who were in an uproar about this crap as well.>> Why should politics prevent a murder trial? <<But then again, we have the Aryan Nations, the Patriot Movement, and a bunch of other whiter separatists/supremists moving their little fannies to northern Idaho (much to the dismay of the locals who have been there for years.)>> I have no love for these idiot racists, but if they commit no crime I must defend their freedom of speach and religion. and that is what the government should be there for also, to protect the freedom of religion and speech for even the most outlandish - not to kill them. <<Btw, what do you think about the cops who plugged the guy in NYC last week with 19 rounds (out of 41 fired). He wasn't even packing a firearm and he has no prior arrest record.>> Never even heard about it. You can bet if had heard it, I would have said something. Sounds like their actions should have been more constrained(?). You are correct that there are many abuses - that don't get punished. That does not make it right, and never will. I would hate to be on your side of this debate trying to defend the actions of Reno. It make you come off sounding like you support (or at least are willing to overlook) these murders because they happened to these racists and the fear it supports. Fear is what makes people do crazy things. These police state tactics do no one any good and will only breed more fear and more of these actions - from both sides. Of Utopia? This "free country" should be just that. These federal thought police are the problem that prevents that Utopia our founding fathers dreamed of and died for.
