Alan,

I know very little about Jesus. Everything written about him was written after his death by people who were engaged in building organizations based on some perception of his life. Some of them had persecuted other followers of Jesus, especially his brother James the Just who even the Jews believed was a pious Jew and a follower of Jesus although he had rejected him in life. The very idea that an observant Jew could not believe in Jesus to the death is absurd. No one today is an authoritative teacher of the past. We must all reach our beliefs independently of all false authority. Anyone who claims to know the truth must convince us of the truth immediately by inspiration. If we are not convinced, then we cannot be damned by our ignorance. We cannot force belief on us when our inner voice says no.
The idea that a person of the malign ignorance of Emile could convince one rational is even more absurd. What does this think know of modern Jewish culture? Has he lived and suffered with the Jews?
I know you will keep your faith and learn even more.
