As a suggestion, always ask for the POP (Points of Presence) stuff first.

All you really want is their pipe. In other words, all I would ask of them is 1 thing: Their local phone number.

I want MY standard browser (no thanks to their proprietary ones), and only Dial up networking will be allowed to make my connection.

In other words, keep your CD and freebies. Just 1 local phone number (and my id & password) is all I ever ask of an ISP, no matter how hard they push their other "junk".
