She *wants* to be a virologist? Yecko. Can't you convince her that graphic arts or modern dance would be a tad more fun?

Larry, I'm too far removed from school to give that sort of advice. When I was a grad student, you went to Univ. Chicago for herpes viruses, Rockefeller for retroviruses, etc.

I'd say that, for undergrad, almost any good university with a medical school.

Waaaay off topic now...

I'd say there is a good chance that
she is bright enough to extract whatever
she needs out of whatever school she
attends...for undergraduate studies.

My experience taught me that the University
is a terrific place to be distracted toward
anything...but studies. Coed dorms are a
very bad thing...poker night, dances and
parties etc. Looking back on all the fun,
it really was mainly a long useless social
event, and I'm not sure what I got out of it.
(I did not meet my wife until several years
after graduating...)

My best memory of college was walking across
campus with one of the most respected history
professors...chatting about ancient Greece.
That was the best part of the whole thing.
