I almost always connect at speeds over 50k....but I did that on AOL as well when I tried them...I think it is more likely an issue of the limitations of the local phone lines/wiring in your area/house than it is a Prodigy/AOL limitation, although I imagine there are still some areas where Prodigy/AOL don't support 56k yet...

Jimbo.

<<Do you Prodigy users find that you can actually connect over a phone line anywhere near 56K? I finally gave up my new 56K modem because I couldn't even connect, much less above 33,600, on AOL.>>

With near certainty, JGoren, I'd say you have a local line issue. I have 56k access but rarely connect at greater than 26.6. US West admits it's limited by their system. ...Tim

Side note: I switched from AOL to Prodigy Internet after it was taking an average of 80 to 100 dial-up attempts to connect to AOL (at least I could use a 20 attempt autodialer). I have never, ever, gotten a busy signal or "can not connect" from Prodigy. Still have "bring your own access" with AOL to tcp/ip straight in. FWIW.
