Eye Dynamics (EYDY) Performed Best According to Government Funded Study

PR Newswire - February 11, 1999 21:01

TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Eye Dynamics (OTC Bulletin Board: EYDY)
reveals for the first time that its technology for evaluating impairment in individuals was 3x more
accurate than any other system evaluated by researcher Battelle in a study funded by the
Transportation Research Board.

The product is the EPS-100 Eye Performance System and is the subject of a U.S. and several
foreign patents. It evaluates a person's involuntary eye movements and pupil reactions based on
techniques used by law enforcement throughout the United States and corroborated by medical
science.

The EPS-100 is a non-invasive computer based technology which establishes, in a mere 90 seconds,
that an individual is impaired from drugs, alcohol, over-the-counter medications, prescriptions,
certain medical conditions, or even physiological states like extreme fatigue.

The Transportation Research Board (TRB) is a federal program jointly sponsored by the National
Academy of Sciences, Federal Transit Administration and the Transit Development Corporation,
Inc. The TRB chose Battelle as prime contractor in an evaluation of several emerging or
commercially available systems to evaluate fitness-for-duty testing in the transportation industry. The
Southern California Research Institute, in Los Angeles, performed the clinical trials using alcohol as
the impairing agent.

Of all the systems tested, Eye Dynamics' EPS-100 was 3x more accurate than any other product at
a blood alcohol level (BAC) of .08%. A BAC of .10% is the legal limit for driving in most states.

The final report is entitled "Fitness-For-Duty Testing in the Transit Workplace (TCRP F-01)" and is
available for loan from the TRB in Washington, D.C.

Eye Dynamics currently manufactures and markets medical devices, based on its patented
technology, to customers around the world. Its R&D effort on the EPS-100 is moving forward with
the goal of becoming an alternative to urine-based drug testing, a market which exceeds $1 Billion
annually.
